Rulerr - permissions made simple
Share
The development of Rulerr was lead by Jason Rudolph and Nathan Aherne.
Rulerr was started in September 2016.
Rulerr was designed to be a central report of access privileges across an organisation with the ability to have one way or two way integration between Rulerr and any external product. This two way sync was an important security feature of the software. For high risk systems or systems with dedicated security teams, Rulerr would be used for reporting, monitoring and alerts of changes to permissions. For systems with low quality permission systems or small systems with small numbers of users, two way sync could be enabled. This would allow administrators of Rulerr to change permissions on these systems from within Rulerr.
Rulerr was selected to enter the TWIG (Testing Within Government) Program run by the Queensland State Government in 2016. TWIG was a 12 week program designed to connect small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups with government agencies to test and refine digital solutions for real-world problems. This was an incredible opportunity to work with government agencies and work with them to get feedback on the Rulerr product and develop it.
We completed development of Rulerr in late 2017 and it operated for several years.
Rulerr was developed in several languages, most notably NodeJS and Python with the database being PostgreSQL.
